Rihanna subpoenaed to testify
According to the Associated Press, Rihanna's attorney Donald Etra says prosecutors will subpoena his client to testify at the June 22 hearing to determine whether there is enough evidence to bring the case to trial.
It would mark her first appearance in court since felony assault and criminal threats charges were filed against Brown in March. If she is called to testify, the 21-year-old singer would be subject to cross-examination by Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos.
Brown was arrested in February on suspicion of hitting and choking Rihanna in a rented car hours before the couple were scheduled to appear at the Grammy Awards. Etra wouldn't address their relationship now, but said Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, was following the case closely.
A judge on Thursday rejected a motion by Geragos to receive police and investigative records related to the case and the apparent leak of a photo of a beaten and bruised Rihanna. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg told Geragos the motion was premature and he could file it again after the preliminary hearing.
Brown wasn't in court Thursday, but he's required to attend the preliminary hearing. The 20-year-old R&B singer faces possible sentences that range from probation to nearly five years in prison if convicted.

Britain's oldest mum gives birth
She secretly checked in to hospital this week and her baby was born on Tuesday.
Divorced Elizabeth - who turns 67 in July - and her son are being cared for at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.
Both are believed to be healthy, but are being monitored by specialist doctors.
She is understood to have chosen to give birth at the hospital because a private clinic might have been unable to deal with serious complications.
Weighing 5lb 3oz, her baby was delivered by Caesarean section.
She was due to give birth next month but doctors brought the procedure forward.
Yesterday there was no one at Mrs Adeney's £600,000 home in Newmarket, Suffolk. Her blue Nissan Primera was parked in her drive.
It is understood she will remain in hospital for a number of days.

Iron Man actor Terrence Howard engaged
According to WENN, the actor proposed to Columbian actress Zulay Henao after she jetted over to the Czech Republic for a visit.
Although he has never confirmed his relationship with Henao, the pair has been spotted together at red carpet events and they were snapped frolicking in the sea together during a December 2007 vacation.
Howard, 40, started dating Henao after splitting with ex-wife Lori McCommas for the second time in 2005. Howard and McCommas ended their 14-year marriage in 2003, but he wooed her back and they remarried, only to split for good soon after.
Last year, the actor revealed how he had bought McCommas her childhood home and stalked her in a bid to win her back. But, after their second split, he moved on and found love with Henao, who helped him recover from the death of his beloved mother Anita to cancer last September.
The couple can be seen together in 2009 movie "Fighting."

Are T.I and Tiny finally married?
It’s official. The Urban Daily has learned exclusively that T.I. and Tiny are formally man and wife.
Clifford Harris and his longtime girlfriend Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, who’s the mother of two of his children, have officially tied the knot in a secret ceremony, a source close to the couple told The Urban Daily. The two have been together since 2001.
“It’s been a crazy situation around here with all that has been taking place. In regards to Tiny and T.I., yes they are officially husband and wife,” said the source who wished to remain anonymous because they were not at liberty to officially discuss the issue. “It recently took place in a very private ceremony with only members of the immediate family and certain members of the Grand Hustle family.”
According to the source, the couple married last Friday on an island right outside of Miami on what was publicly touted as a family trip to the southern city.
In related news, T.I. is scheduled to report to an Arkansas prison at noon today to start his year long sentence ( which may have been reduced according to various reports) that stemmed from his 2008 conviction on federal weapons charges.

Jesus Luz sets the record straight !
"She is a person who I admire a lot, a friend who is in my life," the superstar's frequent companion, Jesus Luz, tells the Brazilian TV show Fantastico. "More than that, I can't say. She is my friend, just a friend." As for those photos of them buying jewelry featuring Kabbalah symbols, he says, "I received these pieces of jewelry because they are inspired by Kabbalah. If I want to present them to somebody, it could be my mother or a friend of mine. I don't have any marriage plans or any wedding present." The friendship between Luz, 22, and Madonna, 50, began early this year after they were introduced on a photo shoot by photographer Steven Klein. "I found her wonderful, a person full of positive energy, a nice person, you don't see faults," he tells Fantastico. The Brazilian model offered a few details from his own biography, saying, "I am a quiet guy. I grew up in Rio, always liked nature, the beach, to treat my body well, to work out, to be healthy. I went to evangelical church, Catholic, yoga, various ways to try and meet God within me." And is he a ladies' man? "I always liked to date seriously," he says. "I never was just casual." One thing his pal Madonna has taught him is to ignore media rumors, or taunts he's just another Boy Toy. "In truth," he says, "I never pay attention to what others say about me, because if I let negativity to enter into my life, I can't follow my route, my path."

Director Fran Rubel Kuzui directed the original film and exec-produced both the series and its spinoff Angel; she owns the rights to the Buffy brand, and wants to reboot the franchise for film, replacing Gellar and the rest of the original cast with new actors to take on vampires and demons for a new generation.
Kuzui told The Hollywood Reporter, “Everything has its moment. Every movie takes on a life at some point, and this seems like the moment to do this.”

Twittering twosome DEMI MOORE and ASHTON KUTCHER(who have more than 3million followers between them) have threatened to close their Twitter.com accounts if bosses of the social networking site enter into a proposed agreement to launch a reality TV show.

In a post on Monday (25May09), actor Kutcher wrote, "It's all fun and games until somebody gets stalked."
And his wife added, "I hope this isn't true - if it is our Twitter time may come to a quick and sad end."

Does Michael Jackson have skin cancer?
I've been hearing these rumours for a while now, which were denied by MJ's people but could it be true?
Thriller singer Jacko, 50, visited a top dermatologist in Beverly Hills, California, every day last week as he battles the disease.
It is not known what was in the bag, carried by a minder.
It read: “Diseases of the skin, skin cancer and skin cancer chemosurgery.”
The star has had a shave biopsy op to remove dangerous growths and to see if he needs more treatment.
He has also seen experts to minimise scarring.
A close source said: “He’s putting on a brave face but is absolutely terrified.”
Jacko is due to play 50 gigs at London’s O2 this summer, but the opening night has already been postponed to July 13.

Feuding MLK kids a threat to biopic
Bernice King and Martin Luther King III are threatening legal action against their brother Dexter, the overseer of their father's estate, for signing off on the DreamWorks deal without their involvement in the negotiations.
The studio said Wednesday it still wants to make a movie about Martin Luther King Jr. "provided that there is unity" among his kids.
"The purpose of making a movie about the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is to tell a great story which could bridge distances and bring people together," read the statement provided to The Associated Press by DreamWorks spokesman Chip Sullivan. "We remain committed to pursuing a film chronicling Martin Luther King's life provided that there is unity in the family so we can make a film about unity in our nation. We believe this is what Dr. King would have wanted." The studio touted the project as the first big-screen portrayal of the 1964 Nobel Peace Prize winner that would be authorized by the estate and use King's intellectual property, including copyrighted speeches and other works, as the basis for the film. Steven Spielberg was listed as a co-producer.
"I sincerely believe that the film project we have been working on with DreamWorks ... offers an unprecedented opportunity for educating the largest possible audience about our father's legacy as the leader of America's greatest nonviolent movement," Dexter King said in a statement.
He said the DreamWorks biopic could focus on the life and work of his father just as the film "Gandhi" educated people on the teachings of India's political and spiritual leader of non-violent independence from the British.
"I sincerely hope my brother and sister will join us in supporting this urgently needed project," he said.
He said although his communication with family members has "been somewhat stymied by the current litigation," he continues to reach out to them.
Bernice King and King III have accused their brother of tarnishing their parents' legacy with his business decisions, and say he has been operating The King Estate for years without their input. In March, Dexter King brokered a deal with EMI Music Publishing for his father's words and image. Last month, his siblings took issue with an $800,000 licensing deal their brother struck with the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Foundation, which is building a monument to King on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
The siblings still haven't settled three lawsuits involving their parents' estates, including one attempting to force Dexter King to open the books of The King Estate. Another would determine who should control Coretta Scott King's personal items — some of which were at the center of a $1.4 million book deal about their mother's life that fell apart last year.

Angelina Jolie watches child soldiers trial
"After watching the proceedings from the viewing booth, I stood up and found Thomas Lubanga Dyilo looking at me," Jolie said. "I imagined how difficult it must be for all the brave young children who have come to testify against him."
Tuesday's visit was Jolie's second to the world's first permanent war crimes tribunal in less than two years. The goodwill ambassador for the UN refugee agency UNHCR said children deserve special protection during wars.
"Using children in conflict is a heinous crime and destroys the very fabric of a society," she said.Jolie also met with the court's chief prosecutor, Luis Moreno-Ocampo, during her private visit to the court.
Lubanga, founder and former leader of the Union of Congolese Patriots political movement and its armed wing, has pleaded innocent to charges of recruiting and using child soldiers in tribal conflicts in 2002-2003.
His is the first international trial to focus solely on child soldiers. It started in January and is expected to continue throughout this year.
The United Nations estimates up to 250,000 child soldiers still fight in more than a dozen countries.
Katie Price says she'll be suing !
Katie Price is threatening to sue "lots of newspapers and mags" over the way her split from Peter Andre has been reported.
The former glamour model told fans on her Twitter page: "Please don't believe everything you read in the press.
"There's lots of newspapers and mags I'll be suing when I get back."
Price went on to thank those who have shown their support during "such an awful time".
The 30-year-old model turned businesswoman is currently on holiday in the Maldives with two of her children following the spilt from her husband of three-and-a-half years.
In an interview with OK! magazine, which took place before she flew to the luxury resort, Price described Andre as "the love of my life" but vowed she would not "shed another tear" over the break-up.
She said: "I don't want us to split up. I love my husband, but I can't sit around crying.
"This is a new story and a new chapter in my life.
"I am so sad and upset by his decision to separate and divorce me as I married him for life."
However, Price said Andre would have to make the first move if he wanted them to get back together, because it was his decision to end the relationship.
In the interview, Price also denied claims that her wild nights out partying led to the couple's separation.
She said: "Pete can't blame this on me drinking. I hardly ever go out.
"Over the five years of our relationship I have probably been out 20 times, which is unusual for a woman of 30.
"I'm not a party girl and I don't drink at home so when I go out I can get drunk quickly."
The couple found romance on the reality TV show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and were married at a lavish, fairytale wedding in 2005.
Just last September the couple renewed their vows in South Africa.
But, apparent strains on their relationship have frequently hit the headlines, with their blazing rows often caught on camera for their fly-on-the-wall shows.
Michael Jackson postpones tour
Michael Jackson fans won't be thrilled - or necessarily surprised - by this news.
The first four dates of the singer's much-hyped 50-show comeback tour have been postponed, promoters announced Wednesday.
The July 9 show at London's O2 arena will now take place July 13 - while shows on July 10, 12, and 14 have been rescheduled for March 2010, promoters said.
The delays immediately stoked speculation that Jackson's health is poor, but promoters said the issue was a production snag.
"There's nothing nefarious," said promoter Randy Phillips, the president of AEG Live. "There's nothing going on with his health."
The postponement came days after a London newspaper reported that Jackson has skin cancer - which his camp steadfastly denied.
Kenny Ortega, Jackson's creative collaborator, said the extra week is needed to deliver a "flawless" multimedia stage production.
"We apologize to all disappointed Michael Jackson fans and remain extremely dedicated and focused on creating an exceptional live music experience," he said.
Some 750,000 tickets to the "This Is It" tour sold out within hours in March, AEG said.
Die-hard fans made plans to travel from overseas, and promoters said Wednesday that anyone who can't attend the rescheduled shows will be entitled to a full refund.Read more: "Michael Jackson postpones comeback tour, fueling rumors of poor health" -

Kidney transplant successful for Natalie Cole
The 59-year-old singer underwent successful kidney transplant surgery "and is resting comfortably," publicist Maureen O'Connor said Wednesday. Cole will postpone her summer tour, which was set to begin June 5 and run through November, as she recovers.
Cole had been receiving dialysis three times a week since September. She still continued to perform, even overseas, in support of her latest album, the Grammy-winning "Still Unforgettable,"
The kidney dialysis is unrelated to Cole's struggle with hepatitis C, a liver disease spread through contact with infected blood. She announced her hepatitis diagnosis last year and said that the disease was likely caused by her drug use years ago.
Cole received painful chemotherapy to treat the hepatitis and "within four months, I had kidney failure," she told Larry King on his CNN show last month. Without a donor, she would need dialysis for the rest of her life, she said.
After her appearance on King, she received countless letters from people offering to give her a kidney. But a regional organ-procurement agency, One Legacy, found a kidney for her.
Cole has sold millions of records and won nine Grammys since she made her recording debut in 1975. The daughter of jazz legend Nat King Cole had her greatest success with the 1991 CD "Unforgettable ... With Love," which paid tribute to her late father with reworked versions of some of his best-known songs.
She won her ninth Grammy in February for "Still Unforgettable," on which she also sings jazz standards. She recently performed on "American Idol" and was gearing up for her tour.
"I'm committed to working. I'm a fighter, not a chump," she said in an interview with People last year. "The timing is intense. The album is special to me, and here I am sick. But you know the saying: These are the best of times and the worst of times. So we'll barrel through."

The Cosby Show Celebrates 25 Years!
The Huxtables (The Cosby) Show was first aired 25 years ago and to mrk this anniversary the whole cast appeared on the Today Show. Congrats to them!
Cosby had an unusually high level of creative control over the show. He wanted the program to be educational, reflecting his own background in education. He also insisted that the program be taped in New York City rather than Los Angeles, where most television programs were taped.
The earliest episodes of the series were videotaped at NBC's Studio One facility in Brooklyn. The network later sold that building, and production moved to the Kaufman Astoria Studios in Queens.
Although the cast and characters were predominantly African-American, the program was unusual in that issues of race were rarely mentioned when compared to other situation comedies of the time, such as The Jeffersons. However, The Cosby Show had African-American themes, such as civil rights marches, and it frequently promoted African-American and African culture represented by artists and musicians such as Jacob Lawrence, Miles Davis, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Lena Horne, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie and Miriam Makeba.
Fossil is human evolution !
Astonishingly, it was found by an amateur collector 26 years ago in the Messil Pit world heritage site, a disused quarry southeast of Frankfurt where many fossils have been found.
It was kept in a private collection until it was offered for sale in 2006 to Dr Jorn Hurum, professor of vertebrate technology at the University of Oslo Natural History Museum.
The fossil was nicknamed Ida after the daughter of Dr Jens Franzen, a researcher from the Senckenberg Research Institute in Frankfurt who is an authority on the Messil Pit area.
He said: "We are not dealing with our grand, grand, grand, grand, grandmother, but perhaps with our grand, grand, grand, aunt."
Ida is linked to humans by the talus bone in her ankle which is the same shape. Scientists also said her opposable big toes and nails, not claws, confirmed she was a primate.
Measuring 2ft from the tip of her nose to the end of her tail, she died before her first birthday, Dr Hurum said, adding: "It's really hard to pinpoint exactly who gave rise to humans at that point but this is as good as it gets really."
Ida is nearly entirely intact, apart from one lower limb. Remnants of her fur are still evident and her last meal of fruit and leaves were still in the stomach cavity when discovered.
The skeleton has been put on display at New York's Museum of Natural History.
Why Tyra Banks Fired Paulina Porizkova
First General Motors, then Chrysler, now Paulina Porizkova. "The current state of the economy has forced shows to make major budget cuts industry wide," says America's Top Model executive producer Ken Mok, in a joint statement with Tyra Banks released Monday. "America's Next Top Model is not immune to these financially challenging times. We've had to make significant cuts in every area of the production and, unfortunately, Paulina was a casualty of these cuts."
Tyra Banks
As Porizkova herself announced May 12, she was let go from her job as a judge on the show after one year. "The reason I was told I was fired was because, it seemed that America's Next Top Model has gotten too fat and they needed to cut some fat and the fat was me," she said in a TV interview. "So I figured it was either that or my gigantic huge ego. Which I wasn't aware of until I was told by the producers that I have an ego problem." In their statement, Mok and Banks said, "Tyra, who pursued Paulina to join the show as a judge multiple times, was incredibly saddened by the decision the show was forced to make. We really enjoyed working with Paulina, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors."

Medical Minute - Green Tea
The Chinese have known about the medicinal benefits of green tea since ancient times, using it to treat everything from headaches to depression. In her book Green Tea: The Natural Secret for a Healthier Life, Nadine Taylor states that green tea has been used as a medicine in China for at least 4,000 years.
Today, scientific research in both Asia and the west is providing hard evidence for the health benefits long associated with drinking green tea. For example, in 1994 the Journal of the National Cancer Institute published the results of an epidemiological study indicating that drinking green tea reduced the risk of esophageal cancer in Chinese men and women by nearly sixty percent. University of Purdue researchers recently concluded that a compound in green tea inhibits the growth of cancer cells. There is also research indicating that drinking green tea lowers total cholesterol levels, as well as improving the ratio of good (HDL) cholesterol to bad (LDL) cholesterol.
Here are just a few medical conditions in which drinking green tea is reputed to be helpful:
cancer
rheumatoid arthritis
high cholesterol levels
cariovascular disease
infection
impaired immune function
The secret of green tea lies in the fact it is rich in catechin polyphenols, particularly epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG is a powerful anti-oxidant: besides inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, it kills cancer cells without harming healthy tissue. It has also been effective in lowering LDL cholesterol levels, and inhibiting the abnormal formation of blood clots. The latter takes on added importance when you consider that thrombosis (the formation of abnormal blood clots) is the leading cause of heart attacks and stroke.
Links are being made between the effects of drinking green tea and the "French Paradox." For years, researchers were puzzled by the fact that, despite consuming a diet rich in fat, the French have a lower incidence of heart disease than Americans. The answer was found to lie in red wine, which contains resveratrol, a polyphenol that limits the negative effects of smoking and a fatty diet. In a 1997 study, researchers from the University of Kansas determined that EGCG is twice as powerful as resveratrol, which may explain why the rate of heart disease among Japanese men is quite low, even though approximately seventy-five percent are smokers.
Why don't other Chinese teas have similar health-giving properties? Green, oolong, and black teas all come from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. What sets green tea apart is the way it is processed. Green tea leaves are steamed, which prevents the EGCG compound from being oxidized. By contrast, black and oolong tea leaves are made from fermented leaves, which results in the EGCG being converted into other compounds that are not nearly as effective in preventing and fighting various diseases.
New evidence is emerging that green tea can even help dieters. In November, 1999, the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition published the results of a study at the University of Geneva in Switzerland. Researchers found that men who were given a combination of caffeine and green tea extract burned more calories than those given only caffeine or a placebo.
Green tea can even help prevent tooth decay! Just as its bacteria-destroying abilities can help prevent food poisoning, it can also kill the bacteria that causes dental plaque. Meanwhile, skin preparations containing green tea - from deodorants to creams - are starting to appear on the market.
Harmful Effects?
To date, the only negative side effect reported from drinking green tea is insomnia due to the fact that it contains caffeine. However, green tea contains less caffeine than coffee: there are approximately thirty to sixty mg. of caffeine in six - eight ounces of tea, compared to over one-hundred mg. in eight ounces of coffee.
There are aslo green teas on the market that don't contain any caffeine, just go the reputable health shops it's there.
